Re: Sprint collecting data on users! GPS and Browsing!
Funny how this is getting attention like its something new. Even without GPS your device can still be tracked...thru basic phone records. They can determine your general location...if you add in triangulation between cell towers...well...you can put 3 and 3 together.
On GPS locations as long as your phone is TURNED ON...the phone can be located.
I have GPS locator working on all my lines...and the only time it WON'T give me a location of a device is when the phone is turned off...OR the battery is dead.
Most of those GPS location requests that were turned over to the "authorities" have to do with them tracking suspects...not any random person. Besides, if they were tracking A SINGLE suspect, they can collect up to thousands of GPS pings a day...depending on how often they update the person's location. Also, I highly doubt that Sprint would release any info on locations without a court order or some sort.
