28008 is the smoothest running version out to date. the weather animations and slider are much smoother than in the other versions.
as for "downgrading" to version 9.7. many people were having issues with 10.0 i think. there are cabs for it floating around so if you still want it, install it, no big deal.
it's not the the Quickmenu is "super spaced apart" really. it's a newer, more finger friendly version.
i also noticed that the syncing works without changing sync modes. which is a definate improvement.
and last but not least, the mms is still same ole same ole. doesn't work properly for sprint users (at least not for me).
