Everytime you establish a data connection subscriber info is used to validate your access, everything you do is logged and filed temporarily.
There were additional steps taken prior to the launch of the Touch in an attempt to stop non-sprint subscribers from using the app. This is when the cache tweak came about. The deletion is more about memory release than security. It just so happens that part of the subscriber info is in the cache which appears to be why it works for a time being when the cache is replaced.
I am not sure why you say you disagree with me when i say it never fully worked. the evidence speaks for itself. If it fully worked then we would not have these posts and these never ending discussions would we? You would happily be watching your premium STV services without paying for it and without issue wouldnt you? if it fully worked it would not be necessary to reload the cache, would it? The cache works until its updated by the system or deleted then you have to reload it, far from a permanent solution. However i do agree, clearly it works as a temp solution.
Sure there is hope for this, if you can monitor the data stream as well as the subchannel info handed by the phone to the network you may be able to emulate the process, but heck cloning a touch esn would just be easier.

It's semantics. I don't think you understand what I am saying. The hack did work regards if one needed to change cache. People were able to watch TV. If people were able to watch TV then you must agree that it worked regardless of how they did it, it did work. If I recall when it stopped working the 1st time was because they zapped the the TV, then there was a hack, so sprint came up with secruity to zapped the cache and check subscription, or channel is not available 7000 code so another hack came out and it worked again. But now there is a VID issue. If this secruity check was there in the first place then one would have rec'd the "VID" before but no its a NEW security check. And this is the first time I've seem this VID. So what I am saying is that SPRINT is monitoring this. If there is a hack to make it work again SPRINT will come out with a new secruity check period. That is all I am trying to say.
PS. I was happily watching TV until SPRINT came out with this NEW security check. And I think many other people were happily watching it until this new secruity check. But I am sure there will be another hack before SPRINT offers it next year. And I am sure that SPRINT will come out with a secruity check again. You must realize it's a cat and mouse situation as with all hacks that cost company $$$. They will come out with security to prevent it.
