Don't know if this is common knowledge or not (or if there's some easy way of doing this that I couldn't figure out)...

I use the start menu (as opposed to the manilla program tab) but I couldn't find a way to move programs from folders to the top level of the start menu unless I used total commander to copy the shortcuts manually. But when I did this the icons that nrg setup didn't move with the program (which bites, cause those are some nice looking icons).

Took a while but found out this is easy to fix. Open the registry editor and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\
You'll see an entry for every entry in your start menu. Navigate to the program link that has the icon you want to use, copy the icon key and paste it to the new shortcut that you created at the top level. You have to reboot for the icons to be picked up.
