And I don't like seeing it pushed as "the solution" that fixed the broken TP2 chip set. Because it isn't broken (any worse than last 3 generations).

I think if you update any faster, all you do is chew up more battery/cpu/resources for very little gain in practice.

But if it's the $23.00 that scares folks go for it. I agree there are other solutions and I posted the EASIEST for folks having trouble. I added GPSProxy too to the top post which I believe has been around for a long time. I've not personally used it. GPSGate did it first eons ago and it has worked great ever since.

I also want folks to realize that updating 10 times a second is not needed for walking or driving. If your walking and do a sudden turn; which is better, an incorrect interpolation or waiting for the next true update. Some Nav apps have their own interpolation/animation as well.

Again I think folks are confusing "Normal 2 Second Lag" (which is not a problem) with the misconfigured GPS that gives excessive lag. It so happens the "Driver" you pointed out main purpose is to reduce the 2 Second Lag and as a side effect can do what GPSGate does. I don't know how well it does it either. As I can run several GPS apps with GPSGate and it cruises along just fine.

You're to pigeon holed into your own opinion. Every post doesnt require a two page dissertation as to the merits of GPSgate, and how you aren't sure how other packages that you have never used works.

Really, maybe 1 percent of your end users on this forum care why there is lag when they fire up Garmin, the other 99 percent just want to fix it. GPS gate is wonderful $25 solution. The Xda developed modified GPS driver + emulator is another solution. It overcomes the limitation of GPS hardware polling with a software solution.

I don't push it as THE answer, just like I wouldn't push GPSGate, its just another solution out there.

And of the five downloads, all you need is a 1.37 or 1.38 software. If you use GarminXT then you need QueStub. Not really that hard. If you have any other questions you can always ask the developer who is still very active in that thread.
