It's supposed to be really light on memory. Also the 1.2 version works in landscape mode too! I don't like Coreplayer for music because the buttons are so small, not very finger friendly. It's okay when I'm watching a video because I'm not messing around with it. But with mp3s sometimes I want to skip a song or search through my library. Hopefully it works for you!
