In addition I would also suggest looking into the following apps :
QuickMenu
Showcase
Wisbar (Paid app $)
They all add additional functionality to the X button in addition to doing many other functions that make handling apps easier.
I personally have used Wisbar for years but it doesn't work with new 6.5.3 custom roms.
