Omnia2 is more of a all-rounder while the HD2 is more of a "specialist" (meaning it's better IF you don't mind the cons or for users who just care about speed/"power")

HD2 pros:
- it's quite faster than Omnia2
- more RAM, better multi tasking
- capacitative screen is more responsive (even if Omnia2 still very good for a resistive)
- bigger screen
- better support for customs ROMs at xda-developer

HD2 cons:
- capacitative screen may cause problems with older applications which requires a stylus or finger nail to cilck on small checkboxes (yesterday I was trying some Profile manager, really great application with fingerfriendly interface BUT really "impossible to use without stylus" setting menus); also the same about excell files or any documents showing a lot of small formatted information; can not be used with gloves
- too big size for pocket (of course depends which kind of pocket^^) or to be used easily with one hand (really on the borderline not to be a "phone" anymore)
- NO AMOLED screen (if you like watching movie/anime it may be a very IMPORTANT point)
- maybe too small of a battery for such large screen (of course need to check for people testing the battery life extensivly)
- NO internal storage
- NO TV-out
- HSDPA worse than Omnia2
- more expensive (this may depends on contracts and where you live)
-no xvid/dviz support without 3rd party programs
-from many reviews, Camera on HD2 is not in part with Omnia2 camera (other than that, at the moment HD2 seems to have a defective hardware problem, you can google for it there is one big thread in XDA forum and it's been recognised by HTC too)
Those are fair criticisms. I'm not even going to buy/use the HD2 myself; my only reason in even mentioning it was to throw it out there as an option to those that may not be aware that there are other WinMo touchscreen phones like the O2 out there.
