com.htc.resources.apk will need to be repackaged with the old lock screen and re-zipaligned. Then, the whole package would need to be signed in order for it to be used as an update. You could just remove the file all together, which would just keep what you have on there in place after the update but then you'd be missing out on the optimizations from that particular file.
