NO this is only true if the phone they have given you as a replacement is not at fault. so if sprint gives you a phone and its junk then no you have to go to sprint to get another. but say you lose it and you talk to asurion and they say ok we will give you a replacement tp for the 100 deductable and you say ok.....then the tp they gave you starts acting up ...you can call them back within a year and they have to replace that phone for free and if they dont have them anymore give you something of equal or greater feature/cost. In my case they replaced 4 of my tp after the one I lost and non of their replacements worked so they said they would ship me out a brand new tp2 at no cost. Soon as they recieve the previous phone I was suppose to send back ....might be a while for that because my dumb self put it in the wrong drop box
