I *think* you need to use the device for a day to really get an impression of whether or not you've "fixed" the blank screen...my device will usually work all day and then fail over night...which, based on how I use my device, might lean me towards thinking it's a back light issue?

OOOOH you said "blank screen" and not BSOD as winmo calls it. He is going to get you.
I do agree and think it is a backlight issue and I didn't manually turn my screen off or let it do it automatically and my BSOD (Black Screen Of Doom) stopped. I'm thinking and I may be wrong but there could be a module or a file missing that is associated with the turn off of the screen that is causing this. Just my guess!!
