#777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

Apparently I cannot have my cake & eat it too with this phone. I use Adv. Config to set the data to disconnect after 1 minute, then I use SKtools's reg editor to change the GPRS_if_bye setting in the registry to #777. So theoretically I should now be able to not worry about a constant data connection sucking my battery dry, nor should I have any problems answering it if I'm on an active data connection, right? WRONG. I have found that the #777 edit somehow disables the automatic disconnect setting even though it still says it's enabled. I have sat & watched the arrows & they just don't disconnect. I have to manually disconnect the data. It works just fine if I leave the GPRS key intact, but then I can't answer my phone when it rings.

My question is- why does it do this? Does anyone have these same results with these 2 edits & has anyone figured out a workaround? I don't wanna have to choose between the 2. I've been choosing the #777 over auto-DC but I'd like to have both.
