Oy, I just got crackling static again on my BT8010 headset with 2.17 firmware. Looks like it happens when I have an incoming call and a custom ringer is set for that particular caller. Happened both times with two different callers with two different custom ringers.
Disabled all custom ringers and there are no problems.
So it's fine as long as I don't use custom ring tones for different people.
Now with the roaming/freezing problems widely reported, I might just end up with a touch afterall.
