Perhaps, but what we do know -right now- is that the Tilt2 (GSM primary) works on Telus HSPA and the Touch Pro2 CDMA Worldphone does not. Maybe it needs to be unlocked, who knows. Interestingly enough, the hardcore unlockers said it does not have the bands either.
Personally, I don't know much about phone hardware and all that, but I could see how a CDMA variant may need some specific radio / onboard chip that may take up space within the phone. Since the Tilt2 does not have CDMA maybe they had room for extra bands or something. I just made that up with logic of course.
Seems like early next year we'll find out.
