I read somewhere that you need the PDAnet software to make your device "invisible" from Sprint's network so that it can't detect you running PAM. Is that something different?
I just want to use my Touch as a modem (on occasion) with my SERO plan...without paying for it of course. Is the method described above the best way to do this?

Yep no charges with sero unlimited data going on a year now (6700-mogul-touch), sometimes I've dl 20-30 gigs a month sometimes not even 1 gig.
You should delete this entry from the following link out of the registry, and it will eliminate step 1 and allow I.S. to dial up a data connection on it's own without having to op IE first.
