I think I might have gotten it working.

It appears that the issue was related to the stupid (factory) LCD protector the whole time. It seems there was a small bit of moisture that was causing the touch screen to think it was being touched when it wasn't.

I'm happy that it is working now, but I wish I would have noticed it before all the flashing. I had a few contacts that I hadn't had a chance to backup yet.

Any tips for removing and re-gluing the plastic screen cover?
