from my understanding the airave uses GPS coordinates to determine & verify you are in the usa. at that point it could "generalize" your area & consider you as los angeles, this is just my guess. I was also under the impression the airave supports the low speed data service just not the faster evdo service we are accustomed to. i hope to purchase one of these devices soon as my basement service sucks
