I wrote the first tutorial on flashing an HTC Titan. That phone is 2 generations old, and people STILL are flashing it. I have people reading threads and fixes/questions I wrote years ago. Plus, most users here do not keep a rom for 6 months... especially the type that are posting about having problems.

Heck my sig still lists my old blog that I barely write for (now I write for mopocket.com), and everytime I see it I think- hey, I should update that. You really think people who are too lazy to explain their problems in the thread title or body will keep their sigs up to date?

For what? Cars? Stereos? Laptops? Even carriers and phone models last longer than ROMs. Just my opinion, but with the sheer number of ROMs and the way many of the folks here go through them like toilet paper (some guys flash more than one in the same day), it just seems like something that will never catch on.

If *you* wanted to do that, by all means go for it- you'll probably make sure to keep it up to date and therefore it will be effective. But I've been around this scene long enough to just don't see it becoming an accepted practice round these parts.
I didn't get a phone to flash every day. Sure their might be a trail period you try a few. But I think most folks settle on one ROM builder.

How long does it take to update ROM name in your sig. 30 seconds?

I think there is a whole bunch of folks that will stick with stock too or 6.1 vs 6.5

Or Manila vs Sense any information would be helpful.

Or Custom vs Stock.

Not every one has OCD. Although these phones seem to attract them
