your inference is somewhat correct ... basically without this disabled, opera is still held in memory even after the opera tweak (though its not visible via the task manager and after 'x' close) bc the gsensor holds it in memory. this is the reason it frees up some more resources after implementing the change. basically, if you launch the internet, and you load a few pages and do a few rotations into landscape mode, the memory held will build up on your phone and wont be released in theory bc of the opera gsensor hold. after implementing the change, everything opera is now dumped from memory, but the downside is, every opera launch now takes a few more seconds to load and will reload the htc home page; this is really a user preference ... i prefer more free memory and avoiding soft resets if possible.
