Just updated my plan via online and waited the 15min with my battery out and what do you know. whats at you did by changing your plan was remove your profile from the network and it rebuilt it with your new plan.
Exactly what i was saying is the issue. you profile on the network is corrupt. thats exactly how they fixed mine they deleted my plan and recreated it on the network the 9th and it was smooth sailing. I have a feeling this is all related to there mass data package deal change and there GSM network they launched. they just changed all data package plans in the last 20 days.
