Right on, Malatesta.
Not exactly the topic, but good input and perspective. Many of these ROMs can be built by average users- btw, FANTASTIC write up on speed tweaks there, not sure how I missed that before. Looks like you went the distance researching... too bad YOU'RE not part of chef scene.
Back to my point (if anyone could argue that there even is one anymore), I just would prefer to see people be mature and responsible about what they post here. Not for me, but for the sake of this forum and the people who come here looking for information.
Those of you who are enjoying the current ROM scene and see this post as senseless whining- this thread is not for you. You're not the people who are being effected by this. This is for people who are trying countless praised roms, and following senseless threads and wondering why things sometimes seem to suck if everyone likes them so much. This is for people who are too afraid to say that perhaps there are too many roms.
The Kitchen approach is a good one, I've always been a fan myself, but more importantly, I'm a fan of organized efforts.
That is, when you divide a community across many projects, you get less support for each one.
If instead of going off and trying to prove something with their OWN rom, they collaborated with another chef and worked together on various versions of the same ROM, that would be another story completely. But that's not what is happening. Its like a freaking popularity contest.
