I Just flashed the R3 Juicy myself, and i think this is the problem....

the new juicy rom carriers manila verison 2.5.19211619

MaxManila DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS VERSION YET

HOWEVER......

i have maxmanila running JUST FINE on my Juicy R3 ROM.....just got it loaded so i will update later...
