If you really want to keep it all seperated, you can make a seperate inbox just for GV incoming messages, and *pretend* its an app. But then, perhaps I'm missing what is so great about having yet another app for an extremely specific purpose?
EDIT: Their mobile portal is pretty awesome too.

Even though i have push, with the fusion voicemail app, when someone leaves you a voicemail. The voicemail app would automatically download the voicemail/fax and if you want, you can play it in your customised media player.
I personally prefer everything in one app instead of receiving an email or going to the site. Going to the email/site then clicking the attachment to play or save as then playing it in the media player.
This is great for me for example ... im in the subway with zero signal. I reach a bridge or area with signal and the voicemail app would automatically start and download whatever messages I have. At the click of one button ill be playing my vmail literally without having to worry about if i should check and see if i happened to receive something.
Edit: I also have gvoice, but less important people to me have that number. I usually check that vmail at the end of the week.
