So much misinformation here I don't even know where to start.

First of all, MS DOMINATES the OS market.
They have a global marketshare of 92.5%

Not only do they lead OS marketshare, they absolutely destroy the competition.

To put it in perspective, Apple's computer/OS marketshare is ~ 5.3% GLOBALLY (they like to just tout US numbers that put them in a better light, but even then its ONLY 8.5% of the US marketshare, their best market, and yet still pathetic figures)

software for PCs maybe, thats about it..

And software for servers
And office productivity
And internet browser marketshare
And of course OS's

Microsoft dominates still in all of those markets.

MACs are better than any PC...

Are you nuts?
Better because they are more expensive?
Better because they have slower processors?
Better because they have slower video cards?
Better because they have only about 1/10000th the amount of software available?
Better because they have a very limited selection of hardware?
Better because they have a very select few configurations to choose from?
Better because of what exactly?

They cost more, do less, and give you fewer options.

Windows 7 basically put the nail in the coffin for any sort of excuse Apple could lob at MS and PC's.

Also, get back to me when you can build your own Mac with your own hands, load your own OS, your own components, and do it for less than half of what it would cost a comparably spec'd PC.

Iphone out sells the world, so winmo loses there again.. microsft just isnt a good platform maker flat out...

iPhone doesn't outsell a damned thing.

iPhone = 40 million units sold in 2.5 years
iphone = 16 million units sold per year


In 2007 alone, Global sales of cellphones were 1.15 BILLION UNITS


To put that in perspective.
iPhone = 16 million units sold per year
Global mobile phones sales = 1,150,000,000 per year

So, iPhone accounts for only 1.3% of the sales of mobile phones per year (that 1.15 Billion number has since gone up, but that's the most recent figure I could find, as newer figures would reduce the iPhone's percentage)

So, when a product only represents 1% of the market, what the hell do you call it? I certainly wouldn't call it "outsells the world"


Microsoft by the way also has a LARGER INSTALL BASE than Apple does of WinMo devices.
There are ~ 100 MILLION WM devices out there in the wild.
Marketshare != install base, and iPhone has only beaten MS in marketshare in just 1 quarter over the last 2.5 years. Incidentally, that was the same quarter that the 3GS launched, and no new WM handsets launched. Go figure.

think about it.. we never want MS to release something new so we can enjoy it... we want them to come out with new things, so WE can fix it, hack it, and make it better, not MS... we just use them for the initial stuff... chefs, REAL Hackers, a few inside guys, and peeps at XDA are who make MS release enjoyable, not MS itself..

i dunno, i might just start navigating to Android and leave winmo alone... i mean come on, stop kidding yourselves, name that last thing MS did, without any help from the forum world, that really impressed you... what touchflo? even that usually sucks till you tweak it out.. even 6.5.1(2) wherever were at now a days(lol) needs tweaks,mods,etc...

Just because you're unfamiliar with their products, doesn't mean the rest of the world is.

i dunno, like i said ive been gone AWHILE, so maybe im out of line... i just think until snapdragon(or tegra when ready) and 1ghz(minimum) becomes Standard in everything as a base atleast, winmo will never be as good as WE want it... so maybe the Leo is the answer, guess well find out
