Actually I had a mogul come through my store a week and a half ago with this same issue. If the store you go to has a decent tech he'll fix your phone for free and send you on our merry way. (All I had to do was take a toothpick and bend the pin back for my customer. Took a whole two seconds out of my day.)
Insurance is always a good idea. It's worth the couple extra bucks a month to save you from headaches like this.
