There is the original HTC data plug that has all the adapters in one unit but I would like to just use the 3.5mm if possible.

Also, when I tried to plug in a generic set of ear buds it would activate my voice command at odd times. Anyone figure out why yet?
i use my bose headsets and they have never activated my voicecommand, also i just got the monster dr dre headphones (which are amazing by the way, nothing compares) and they do not do that also. i'm sorry i have no info on your mic problem, but something may be wrong with your phone or mic if voice command is being activated randomly.
