I did read the FAQ for Option 2. I followed the link to

My issue is that Step 2 of the registry edit did not exist. Furthermore, I was not able to launch text messaging through a contact card or TF3D Messaging tab. Should this be possible?
All you have to do to disable Manila Messaging is to install the CAB that is attached at the bottom of that page. I guess I might upload the CAB later (in the FAQ), but I wanted to respect the developer's work too.

And yes, you can not write a txt message through the contact card after disabling Manila Messaging. Boushh was looking into this, and he was wondering when someone would bring it up!
