The device makes you create a G-mail account before it will even boot up.
I have been super impressed with the speakerphone, its really, really loud.
I would just let the VZW store transfer your contacts, it took about 30 seconds to transfer over 200 contacts from my diamond. although I lost all my contact pics attached to the old contacts.
