Re: First Touch Pro2 on MetroPCS!

Finally got an appointment to come in with my TP2 (Sprint) at the local MetroPCS auth. dealer. I make an appointment so that I can have their Houdini machine to myself for a bit. The first attempt failed: system did not recognize the device at all. Second attempt insisted I install drivers despite that this is the same machine that I flashed my TP1 on and I personally loaded those drivers. Anyway, after installing the drivers, the Houdini *did* see a new com port (Com 54, WTF?), but still stated it could not recognize the phone. At that point I decided to try manual selection: com 54 and the XV6875 (yes, that's Verizon, but it was the only model number I could remember). The phone then flashed without further incident.

Upon completion I got Internet setup without trouble and it worked fine. Then, I flashed the Leo version of EnergyROM and ran into a really weird problem: internet wouldn't work in Opera...but worked fine in Internet Explorer. Message kept coming back "remote server has refused the request." I confirmed the internet settings (especially the proxy setup) several times, but it wouldn't go away. Finally installed the Manilla 2.1 MightyROM, and now Opera is working fine. Unknown if this problem can be replicated on other systems.

Also, despite killing CM_Guardian in the Sprint ROM, the damned thing keeps coming back. I followed the instructions to the letter, but each new ROM requires me to stop the process and kill the reg entries again: any way to be rid of that nightmare permanently?

Thanks to all involved in the creation of the instructions.
