I take that back, it just started happening to mine as well. It was very delayed but sure enough I plugged it in randomly and the light didn't come on for a couple minutes, then suddenly it did. I'm looking into it.

Edit: I'm thinking this might be something with the OEMXIPKernel being used. It is using a 6.5 kernel from a different rhodium device because of the lack of a 6.5 kernel for sprint devices. I've tried changing SYS, also changed back to pure sprint stock EXT and OEM folders, but still have the issue. Almost seems like after a bunch of plugging and unplugging it starts to exhibit the behavior, kind of like a buffer filling too fast and bogging down...
