But after that if you let it sit for awhile, it won't continue booting?
Try a hard reset. Hold down both the send and end keys and press the soft reset button while holding them.
If you can get it to boot to GUI, you *may* be able to recover some settings if you run ##786# and do a master reset, which you'll need your MSL for but I'm doubtful on that.
