Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

Okay, here is what I did to fix my problem so far:

Did a Radio Flash to Latest Verizon ROM.
Worked okay till I updated QuickGPS, then I got locks to wrong location, that showed me moving faster and faster as the day went on, even tho I was stationary... (I assume a lock on a nonsense location is what causes reset.)
Did a full restore from a week old backup in a room that has no cell service...
(Do this in a no cell area so QuickGPS can't autoupdate.)
After the restore, I disabled all the QuickGPS autoupdate stuff.
When back in a cell and GPS friendly area outside...
It takes longer to get a lock, but GPS is working and continues to work correctly now...

I THINK if you just replace the data file from QuickGPS with one a week or more older AFTER turning off autoupdate, and then soft-reset, your GPS systems should all work again, if slower...

(Be sure to hit Thanks if this helps you!

Who knows what the data file is called and where it is? (Its not a DLL file, those are psudo-executables...)
