When you have the official working version for your device, you
will get the localized results, based on your GPS location!
And while the screen functionality does not work on my Sprint Touch Pro2, I believe I got the "Use current location" part to work in the Settings. Without the screen functionality working right, I can't get any of the checkboxes in the Settings to "check", but I did the following:
- Opened Tellme
- Tapped on Options > Settings
- Using my hardware keyboard, I arrowed down to the "Use current location" checkbox, then hit the keyboard once (typically, that will check a checkbox in many situations).
- Tapped Done (the checkbox did not show as checked, btw)
- Performed a random search, like Pizza (with nothing else said).
- The result: Local results in Opera (m.bing.com) for numerous pizza joints right near my building!
Even though the checkbox did not show as checked, I believe the app new that I selected it, because before I did that, I too, did not have localized results.
Damn, the things we have to do to make an illegitimate app work on our devices!
