I know I can use "recent" to get all emails, but I would still like to know if setting Gmail up for IMAP would restore the old behavior of my first post. The main functionality I want to get restored is to be able to download the messages on my PC with Outlook when I get home. They are still on Gmail, but for some reason they get treated as if they were already downloaded, so Outlook doesn't re-download them.
Not to be too pushy, but I am leaving for a 12 day tour of Europe in a few hours and would like to get this resolved while I'm still on this side of the pond.
Not being able to download 12 days of email to my PC when I get home would be very frustrating.
