He was mistaken, Assurion phones have a warranty, I think 90 days if I recall correctly what they told me. If the phone has a defect, it's replaced free.

Now if you get new stock as a replacement, you get the new phones full manufacturer warranty.

I am on my 2nd TP by the way. I wore out my Mogul after two years and turned it in for insurance cause the bottom row of keys stopped working. I got a refurbed one, rejected that cause it was crap, got a Altel Cert one from Assurion and loved it, but dropped it like a bonehead and cracked the screen. I then went to the Alltel store itself for the claim and paid $95 cause it was me that did it and got a TP since they had no Moguls. My TP then had a keyboard failure a week later and got a new TP on warranty.

I am concerned about the high rate of keyboard failures though with the TP.
