tracphone doesnt just use verizon! its based on the phone u buy from them! some of there phones are gsm and some are cdma

from what my local walmart said, for this area, the smarttalk/tracphone uses verizon, so I would assume it would be a cdma
only alltel and verizon work in my area, it's way out in the country, at&t takes 13 miles to get a signal from my town
I'm trying to find a network that has data so I can use my gps, I'm new to this area and riding these country backroads gps would be nice, but alltel prepaid (which I'm using my diamond on) doesn't offer data (at a decent rate)

ok in ur area sounds a lot better cuz not all trac phone customers are using cdma!
