I'm using 60610 for kinda that reason. I know if I force roam it will not go to to EVDO no matter what PRL I have. It seems they changed the radios where you can not force roam on EVDO. But some PRLs have removed EVDO roaming when you are not forcing it. Just load up an old Alltel PRL when you want to use EVDO data.
