I've used trackme for a little more than one year now as mentioned by Vegasden on post #6 (from Vogue ... to Touch Pro 2). It works really well to track my hiking/bicycling activity. It also uploads the kml data to the web (I run my own tracker website based on PHP code supplied). Combined with some other freeware out there I've used this to phototag my camera taken picture as well ...
Trackme also has a nice feature to run in background without running the GPS all the time (Not a battery hog). You can set it up so that it send your cellphone location in case it is missing through an 'SMS keyword'. The location can be sent as an e-mail or sms.
Admittedly, you have to do some setup on the software but it is the most powerful GPS software for WinMo nowadays (IMHO)...
