Re: Any way to have a Verizon TP2 without a data plan ???

i fall in that 1% of people who don't want the data. however i am adapting to use it, since i now have to. the reason i want the phone is i love hacking things, i love customizing and making something the way i want it to be. i have never had a smart phone till the tp2, and i hated every "dumb" phone i had before that. that is the main reason i bought the tp2. i think it would be easy for verizon to block data, hell, they manage to do it to phones prior 11/08. (ok maybe not easy, but do-able). however they want to make money, and i completely understand what they went through with people complaining about data charges and what not, but they should really offer the option to block data. i'd pay 5-10 a month to not have data, haha. seriously, pay something for nothing, but its better than 30/month.

it just seems like the option should be there. i am in no way disagreeing with anyone here, just giving another example of why someone may not want the data, as i have not read an example like this yet. currently i am unemployed and feel that once a get a job, soon i hope, i will be traveling, and once that happens i know i will use/want the data.

there should be like a "hold" option on the data. where you would pay the 5-10/month (where they block data services to your phone), and then reactivate to the 30/month when needed/if needed. just a crazy thought. they could still make a little money, and make us 1% a little happier...my 2cents...(but in their eyes, if it ain't broken don't fix it) i wonder though if this would attract anymore people to smartphones?
