I understand how frustrating it can be when a device does not function as expected. At this time we do not have an estimate as to when a fix will be available for the Home tab while on call issue you are experiencing. From my understanding you may be able to avoid the issue completely by turning off any screen lock password you have enabled on your device. Other than that, it appears you may already know the common work arounds, such as pressing the phone key to bring the phone application back up, or using the hardware keyboard numbers to dial. I apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused you. You should be able to register with the HTC e-Club and receive notification via e-mail whenever a fix is released for your device on the
www.htc.com web page.
