Your reply might have been made for the opposite reason. To help you justify your upgrade to the Touch Pro 2. After all, there isn't nothing worse than feeling like you've been had for a few hundred dollars.
The benefits that the Touch Pro 2 bring to the table are really targeted at a limited number of users, imho. Its biggest feature over the Touch Pro is its sim card slot. Since I don't travel outside of North America currently (and if I did a cheap sim taking phone isn't that hard to find on eBay) I don't have a need for that slot. Some users do and it offers them that feature. The larger screen, better speakerphone, and proximity sensor are the other "major features" and they are cool. To me though, those features aren't worth $350 + The cost of a two year contract. I'd rather spend that same cash on the HD2 (w/ a KB) or the WinMo 7 stuff in 2010.
But I think it is foolish for us to argue either side of the fence. Some users will upgrade simply becase they want to have the latest device and there is nothing wrong with that. There are some of us who prefer to pick our devices based on our actual needs and there is nothing wrong with that either.
The best that can be done is a listing of the pros and cons of both devices and we can all make up our own minds
But to say the TP2 is "better in every way" and a "major upgrade for TP owners" is foolish. It is an evolutionary upgrade that benefits a small subset of users.
