OR do i go ahiead and get the sero 500 plan by buying it off of somebody right now, with a cheap phone for the moment, then after my ser0 is set up, lets say a lotus. then can u upgrade that phone through the site to a tp2 for 199?

you MAY NOT get the phone for $199. However, you don't need to do anything special to get the TP2 on SERO. Simply call *telesales* -- NOT the normal customer service.
If you already fulfilled your contract, then you'll probably get $150 discount and $100 mail in rebate. PLUS, what I recommend is you ask telesales to give you $100 - $150 off your first bill as a "loyal customer" so you don't jump ship to Verizon who sells the phone for a cheaper price. I got $100 credit to my bill without ANY problems. (they'll make you sign-up for another 2 years, but your plan stays the same!)
i did not have to do any haggling with Sprint and I was willing to pay more for the phone because it is the 'latest and greatest' and i would not want to switch from my original SERO plan.
