Same thing happened to me! I've tried renaming registry settings under HKLM\Software\Opera, no go. installed EnableRAPI, sdkcerts, no go. Uninstall pretty much sets me back to Opera 9.5
older builds of Opera 9.7 beta seem to install fine, but crash at startup now.
