Where some of my confusion came was some of the cab links listed didn't point to valid files? it was like when I tried to dowload them, they where gone? My TF3D icons still don't look right, so I started looking for something I was missing?

yep, download and install contents from #2,3 and 4 (I dont have g alarm so i did not install that one). I did install this one too:
