In my case, the rep just looked at the phone, went to one of the technicians to confirm and 2 minutes later came back to me and said the part they need to fix it is not in stock so he would order me a replacement. I asked if I could get a TP2 and he pretended to check the warehouse inventory in the computer or something and then told me to pick up a TP2 tomorrow

Good story. I think your hit it on the head with that statement. It always depends on the person on the other end and from what I've read, it never pays to piss that person off...
