It works for me. Up to a point.
I can connect my laptop to the new wireless network from my phone. My laptop connects and gets an IP address. But I cannot connect to the interent still - it just times out. I thought maybe it was because of DNS, but I cannot get anywhere by using the IP address either.
I do have ICS working (via USB), but wanted to try wifi.
EDIT: sorry,
the WiFi method DOES indeed work for me. I just had to stop and start it a second time. Perhaps on the initial attempt something wasnt right.
