I'm on Vista and use the Winmo device center and have never had a problem, but the card reader also works well. As far as which ones, I have a couple, one that acts like a flashdrive w/ the sd card. Keep in mind you can also use bluetooth. There's a thread on here somewhere about the different ways to transfer the data to your card, there's many different ways, so you should be able to find one that fits well for you. And definately back up your contacts, etc, as you may be doing hard resets throughout, some tweaks may not work well with others and you dont want to lose your contacts, etc. Save copies of cabs also!
