One thing I have to admit though, is that the iPhone definitely raised the bar for everyone. Out of the box, it was fairly easy to operate and the safari mobile web-browser was done extremely well.
The entry of Apple into the mobile market was great for the consumers. We now have more choices and BETTER choices than ever before! =D>

You are right, the iPhone did raise the bar. Heck the "smartphone" market was kinda lacking until the iPhone, then BOOM BANG it's become the norm.
THere was another thread in here talking about a feature of smartphones is the ability to customize it? I would have to disagree, a smartphone is a devise that provides more than just phone calls/texts...like appt keeper in the calander; e-mail; and a slew of other productivity like functions.
