The HTC HD2 however is another story. The hardware + software combo makes this the new killer phone to have from my perspective (especially after viewing the feature set on the HTC website). PPCGeeks is speculating on their frontpage that it looks like the HD2 will not be going to Verizon or AT&T since they respectively have the Imagio and Pure already. These phones are very similar to the HD2/Leo. Thus, the HTC HD2/Leo would cut into their sales. Perhaps this is the reason why certain sites kept reporting that Sprint was not getting the Touch Diamond2/Whitestone. All along, Sprint may have been set to get a CDMA version of the HD2. Only question if that's true is when this will be released (this year or Q1 2010), if it will be the same form factor (e.g. Pure vs. Imagio), or even go by the same name. I would be willing to let my contract lapse and wait for this phone before locking myself to Sprint for another 2 years. My wife contract with Sprint ends early Q1 2010. Great timing.
2010 seems like long time if i had the first diamond maybe i could wait but i feel like buying anything short of the whitestone is kinda a failure for me. I was thinking about the hero but you only have 30 days and iam worried about getting it and when my 30 days are up then something comes with my luck the news about the hd2 seem promising but with what sprint just pulled now i dont know. Oh well guess its wait or verizon oh god no oh and i tryed out the pure at at&t i think they might have down scaled it cause it was way to basic maybe they cant have a better phone than the iphone for sales reasons to that might be a good reason thay might not get the hd 2
