I'm traveling to Peru later this month, and am researching options to call the US. I can unlock my TP2, get a local SIM card in Peru, although I don't know what the per minute rate would be to call the US.
Or if there is WiFi at the hotel, then could I use Skype to cal the US? $10.00 Skype Credit would give me 125 minutes of calling time to the US at Skype's rate of around $.08/minute.

Well as long as your on WiFi at the Hotel and the person in the US has a skype account it would be completely free
